Terrific film; what a history CC have. I only knew a little bit about them before and having seen them play a couple of times at Hornchurch I wish this had been on a week ago: would've put a different perspective on last Saturday's game at the Urchins. Hopefully this being on the telly will get them more people through the turnstiles; well, them and every other non-League team.

Brightlingsea v CC on 7th December. Brightlingsea is only a short hop away from me so may get along and go in the 'away end' for this one!

Really enjoyed watching that last night. Proper old akool footy on the terraces and a club with a passion that's not all about money.
I'll get over and watch a game at some point and if there are any collections to keep the club going I'm happy to bring a few quid in

Only 3 players still at the club, from that trip,my danny, jurvan spencer, and Jamie Bryant on the coaching team.I have taken lots of my mates over cc, all of them loved it,one micky travels from Basildon to about 70% of the games by train.when westham ripped my heart out,i had to find something honest and true, I have in this little club.i now go all westham aways, and about 8 home games, the rest of the time I will follow my boys, you are all welcome to join me.new members joining cc will help to keep us going.

Really enjoyed watching that...hope it sets the ball rolling so to speak...
They played in Kennington Park and Crystal Palace Park - two places which I played many a football match growing up.
As a South Londoner, I'm obliged to wish them well!

Dulwich were in a similar rut not too long ago...but they encouraged a momentum of people to get behind the team and of course they are becoming the SE London non-league team of choice.
It helps if you get art students/graphic designers involved to start small designing stickers/badges/t shirts that stand out and make people curious. Also get people who understand social media - this doesn't need to cost money - most do it all day long so are happy to do it for free in their spare time in exchange for a well stocked club bar which they can use as a social club.
But like you say...if there is no-one to start the ball rolling...
It is possible with the Corinthian Casuals history and heritage... don't forget that

Alfs, yes mate ,its not that easy, its not a sunday league side, this clubs like something out of the 1900s,old school ways, you must read up,i could not get my head around it 10 years ago,the way it run ,we could be playing in 1900,my boy james the manager, not the one in the film, hes trying to pull them into modern times but sometimes its hard work.this clubs the last piece of honesty left in football.

That's just reminded me of an issue that came up with me in the 1960s, just before I ditched rugby for association football.
I was in the ATC and deemed good enough to represent the Wing at rugby, which meant travelling the country and a couple of games at BF stations overseas.
I said I'd rather do so at football and the response was that all my expenses would be covered for rugby, but I would have to fund myself for football.
The money was there, but those in charge of the purse strings were very selective on where it went. Personally selective - bugger public opinion/demand.

Surface... just seems lots more sponsorship going into local Rugby rather than local football... some of those Southend RFC players were on more money a week than some of the players at Southend United... it's mental... I think they have pulled in the purse strings a bit over the past few years mind you... I know Westcliff RFC who are/were ripping it had a couple of their pitches moved because of teh expansion over Southend Airport... I bet they got a decent bit of bunse for that...

We play in the Surrey Youth league, and local.rugby club,. Harlequins want to buy up land that's used for a couple of clubs so they can use for training, which in effect means football will be of limits. They are not willing to share.
Joke, but money and posh boys with mates on the council talk
